Welcome To The Regional Tibetan Ngari Korsum Association of NY & NJ

Toe Ngari Kor Sum Inc. is a regional Ngari Association of New York and New Jersey under the umbrella of the Central Ngari Chithun Association. The Central Ngari Chithun Association was recognized by Kashag-the Executive body of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) as one of the major nonprofit Tibetan Organizations on August 12th, 1993. Thereafter, regional chapters were established all over the world such as Nepal, India, Europe, Canada, and the United States among others.

Toe Ngari Kor Sum of New York and New Jersey Inc. is 503 (c) (1) not for profit organization registered under the state of New York and the Federal government. The association is administered by the elected board of executives of the region and consists of thousands of Tibetan-Americans residing in the state of New York and New Jersey. It organizes a variety of community events throughout the year in these two states.

Mission of the organization is to facilitate a platform where all Tibetan-Americans of Toe Ngari Kor Sum can practice, promote, and preserve their rich ancient cultural heritage, language and arts, and the spiritual aspirations of Ngari part of Tibet. The association also aspires to follow and promote the three commitments of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. We also strive to promote and support the well-being of our members and provide a variety of needy services to our members year-round. The ultimate goal of the organization is to keep the spirit of Ngari part of Tibet alive until genuine freedom is restored inside Tibet and beyond.

Ngari Darchen Kusheng

Ngari Darchen Kusheng or hoisting of great Ngari flag pole falls on 15th day of the 4th month of Tibetan calendar which is widely known as Saka Dawa. This event usually falls in the month of May.
Ngari Association Founding Day
Based on Article 7 of Tibetan Charter; the Kashag (The Executive Branch) of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) recognized Ngari Chethun Association as one the eight Non-Profit organizations on August 13th, 1993. Since then, this date has been commemorated as the founding day of Ngari Association throughout the world.
Ngari Performing Arts Showcase
Ngari is renowned for its long history, unique lifestyle, and profound culture. Every year, in the month of November; our association organizes Ngari performing arts showcase. The goal is to preserve rich Ngari culture and also to raise fund for the organizagtion.
